Samantha is entering her third season with the Muleriders. She has appeared in 11 matches during her time at SAU while playing in 20 sets. She has recorded 39 digs, one kill, and three assists during her career.
 
2024 (Junior): Played in 10 matches and 19 sets…recorded one kill, three total attacks, and no errors…Also recorded 39 total digs.
 
2023 (Sophomore): Played in one match and one set…recorded one assist.
 
2022 (Freshman at Coastal Bend College): Played in 32 matches and 110 sets…Recorded 11 kills and 97 total attacks…Totaled 478 total digs and 23 service aces
 
Personal: Samantha is a native of Round Rock, Texas and attended Round Rock High School. Prior to her time at SAU, Ward attended Coastal Bend College. Sam is the daughter of Shawna Nanry, her stepfather Bill Nanry, and her father Ricky Ward. She is also the sister to Clayton, Gabriel, Adrian, Hayley, Makayla, and Tyler. Sam also has brought in accomplishments such as Defensive Player of the Year during her time at Coastal Bend. Sam has also played for clubs such as Austin Juniors Volleyball. During her time at SAU, Sam is pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice along with being a first-generation college student.
