Daron Fleming enters his second season as an assistant coach for the SAU Women’s Basketball program.
Fleming comes to Magnolia with extensive coaching experience in the Ohio prep ranks as well as on the AAU circuit.
Prior to accepting the Southern Arkansas job, Fleming most recently served as the assistant girls basketball coach at The Wellington School (Upper Arlington, OH) for the 2017-18 season where the Jaguars went to the Division IV district semifinals with a 15-10 mark overall. Preceding his one season stint at The Wellington School, Fleming spent two seasons as an assistant coach with the girls basketball program at Licking Heights High School (Pataskala, OH).
While at Licking Heights, Fleming helped with a pair of successful campaigns in both the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons and finished with 29 total wins. In his first year, the program won a school-record 14 games on its way to a second-place finish in the conference and Fleming assisted in coaching three All-District and All-Conference Players as well as the Conference Player of the Year. The next season saw the Hornets win a school-best 15 wins en route to the program’s first-ever Division I playoff win.
Fleming has also gained experience as the assistant coach of the All Ohio Red girls basketball team of the AAU circuit and has spent considerable time working at the Buckeye Impact & Leadership Basketball Academy (Gahanna, OH).
Fleming is currently working on his bachelor’s degree in business and plans on graduating during the 2019-2020 school year.
