Macklin Chermak enters into his first season as a graduate assistant football coach at Southern Arkansas. In his first year, Chermak will coach the defensive backs.
Chermak comes to SAU with a wealth of prior coaching experience in both the high school and college ranks. Most-recently, Chermak was the linebackers coach at Olive Branch High School in Olive Branch, Miss. Prior to that, Chermak spent the 2014 season at Coffeyville Community College where he was an assistant cornerback and special teams coach.
In 2012, Chermak was the varsity running backs coach and assistant defensive backs coach for Kiel High School in Kiel, Wis.
A 2012 undergraduate from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay where he earned his coaching certificate, Chermak went on to earn a master’s degree from Ohio University in Recreation and Sports Pedagogy with a focus in coaching.
