Beaux Gipson enters into his second season as a graduate assistant coach at Southern Arkansas and will continue to work with the Muleriders’ wide receiver corp.
In his first season with the Muleriders, Gipson helped direct a receiving unit that hauled in nearly 200 passes for over 2,200 yards and 14 touchdowns. Among those was SAU’s top pass-catcher and All-GAC Honorable Mention selection, Jonathan Weisheit.
Gipson comes to SAU after a collegiate playing career at Mississippi College (Jackson, Miss.). While at Mississippi College, Gipson spent time at quarterback and wide receiver.
As a sophomore, Gipson played in nine games at QB and made three starts. As a junior, Gipson transitioned to wide receiver while also returning punts. Gipson also served as the team’s holder on field goals and extra points. As a senior, Gipson remained at wide receiver and continued his special teams duties as well.
Academically, Gipson was a three-time academic all-conference honoree and graduated from Mississippi College in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in General Kinesiology.
In terms of coaching experience, Gipson spent the 2015 season as an assistant coach at North Caddo High in Vivian, La. While at North Caddo HS, Gipson coached the quarterbacks, wide receivers, and defensive backs.
