BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Mulerider Women's Tennis began competition in Northwest Arkansas, as Southern Arkansas took on the three-seeded Harding Lady Bisons in the opening round of the Great American Conference Championship Tournament. The Muleriders ended up dropping the match in a tightly-knit battle, as Harding clinched the win with a 4-3 final.
In doubles, the Lady Bisons started up 1-0 in play, with line three defaulted to Harding. HU clinched the doubles point with a line one final of 6-4 against
Taylor Conway and
Roksana Kokocha.
To begin singles action, Harding started up 3-0 after defaults at line five and six. The Mulerider retaliated with three singles wins by
Jolina Mass at line one (6-4, 6-4),
Isabella Lazzerini at line three (7-5, 6-2), and
Taylor Conway at line four (2-6, 6-4, 6-0). The Lady Bisons ended up clinching the match with a line two win, as
Roksana Kokocha fell 7-5, 3-6, 6-7.
