Mulerider Women Set For GAC Tournament in Northwest Arkansas

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Mulerider Women's Tennis is back in action this week, but this time the group travels to Northwest Arkansas for the Great American Conference Championship Tournament in Bentonville, Arkansas. The unit is scheduled to be one of the first two matches played in the tournament, as the sixth-seeded Muleriders will take on the three-seeded Lady Bisons of Harding University on Friday, May 1, at 11:00 AM.
 
SAU Notables
>>> The last time Southern Arkansas took on the Lady Bisons, the Blue and Gold fell at the hands of Harding with a final score of 5-2. In that match, the Muleriders' lone two points came from Roksana Kokocha at line two singles (6-3, 6-2) and Isabella Lazzerini at line four singles (3-6, 6-3, 7-6).
 
>>> Leading the Muleriders at doubles has been the duo between Taylor Conway and Roksana Kokocha, with the pair being ranked 14th in the latest ITA Division II doubles rankings. The group, at 12-6 overall, is the second-highest ranked GAC pairing, behind Karli Roux and Brooke Coffman of Harding (ranked 6th). In the Muleriders' last match between Roux and Coffman, the Blue and Gold prevailed, as Conway and Kokocha defeated the sixth-ranked duo 7(7)-6(5).
 
>>> Southern Arkansas has two leaders in singles victories, as Jolina Mass and Taylor Conway have each accounted for 10 wins this year. In winning percentage, Mass leads the Muleriders with a .500 winning percentage, currently sitting at 10-10 this season.

>>> The Lady Bisons enter the tournament with a 3-2 record in the league, as the unit won their last three matches after losing their first two.
 
>>> In doubles play, the Lady Bisons are led by the forementioned duo of Karli Roux and Brooke Coffman, with the group leading Harding with a 16-12 record.
 
>>> Karli Roux has been dominant nearly all season long, as the senior is 17-5 this season and is ranked 24th in the nation for singles.
