Mulerider Men Cap off Regular Season with Win

Box Score DURANT, Okla. – The Southern Arkansas University Men's Tennis team capped off their regular season action today in Durant, Oklahoma defeating the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Savage Storm in clean sweep fashion by a final score of 7-0.
 
The men started out hot in doubles play as Balsa Djokovic and Taiki Minamino won at line three in dominant fashion 6-0. Frode Neumann and Lucas Nitzschke won their match at line one by a final of 6-1 as the Muleriders clinched the early lead by winning the doubles point. Uwe Diehl and Jonas Sommer completed the doubles sweep at line two winning 6-4 over the Savage Storm duo.
 
As the teams entered doubles play, the Muleriders looked on continue their momentum and continue it they did. Taiki Minamino picked up another point at line six winning in straight sets (6-3, 6-4). Balsa Djokovic put the Muleriders up 3-0 sweeping his opponent at line four (7-5, 6-2). Jonas Sommer clinched the match for the Muleriders at line five winning in straight sets (6-4, 6-2). Lucas Nitzschke put SAU up 5-0, winning at line two (7-6, 7-5). Uwe Diehl tacked on another points for SAU at line three winning (7-6, 7-5). Frode Neumann completed the sweep for the Muleriders winning at line one in three sets (4-6, 6-3, 6-3).
 
Up Next
The Muleriders will look to continue their momentum as they look towards the MIAA/GAC conference tournament. The Muleriders will head to Springfield, Missouri as they begin their tournament on April 29th.
