Box Score MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas University Men's Tennis team fell today to the No. 17 ranked Mississippi College Choctaws by a final score of 4-3.
The Muleriders took the early lead winning the doubles point.
Frode Neumann and
Lucas Nitzschke won at line one 6-2 and were followed by
Jonas Sommer and
Uwe Diehl winning at line two 6-4.
William Von Pongracz and
Taiki Minamino fell at line three doubles 2-6 but after doubles play, the Muleriders held a 1-0 lead over the No. 17 Choctaws.
Singles play began as the Muleriders attempted to pull off the upset holding a 1-0 lead after doubles play.
Frode Neumann fell at line one 2-6, 2-6.
Lucas Nitzschke fell at line two 4-6, 6 (3), 7 (7).
Uwe Diehl picked up a point for the Muleriders at line three winning in straight sets 7-5, 6-4.
Balsa Djokovic fell at line four 0-6, 4-6.
Jonas Sommer picked up another point for the Muleriders at line five 6-4, 2-6, 7-5. Taink Minamino fell at line six for the Muleriders in three sets as the Choctaws escaped 4-6, 6-3, 5-7.
