MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Mulerider Women's Tennis is back in the saddle at the Live Oak Tennis Courts this week, as the unit had the week off from competition last week. The squad has not been in action since sweeping the Arkansas-Fort Smith Lions on the road on March 8, with a 7-0 regional victory.
The Muleriders enter the week 5-6, as the Blue and Gold prepare for their home match against the 6-2 Missouri Western State Griffons. In Southern Arkansas' bout with UAFS, the unit made quick work of the MIAA foe, as SAU clinched the doubles point with ease and saw dominant play all around the singles lines, especially from
Jolina Mass, who defeated Arianna De Bernardo 6-2, 6-0.
Currently leading the squad in singles wins is
Taylor Conway, as the senior from Bixby, Oklahoma has recorded eight singles victories.
The Griffons have been impressive in the last few outings, as MWSU has won its last four matches, with wins against Midland University (7-0), Minnesota State-Mankato (6-1), Ouachita Baptist (5-2), and Arkansas Tech (4-0). Prior to SAU and MWSU's contest, the Griffons will face their third-straight GAC opponent, as the group will head to Arkadelphia for a match with Henderson State.
