DALLAS, Texas — The reigning Great American Conference champions opened up the 2026 Spring season in a big way, as the group defeated the University of Texas-Dallas (LSC) 5-2 to begin the year 1-0.
The Muleriders began the winning way by claiming the doubles points, as the double pairings of Roksana Kokocha/Taylor Conway won the line one doubles 6-1 Emilie Senepart/Jolina Mass won the line two doubles 6-3.
The Comets were able to counter from the lost doubles point, as the group collected the tying point in line six singles, as Victoria Perez fell to UT-Dallas' Grecia Idrogo 6-0, 6-2. The Comets then claimed the lead in the match in line two singles, with Kokocha dropping to Presley Churchman 6-3, 7-5.
Tying the match back up for the Muleriders was Mass, as the freshman carried her doubles momentum over into line one singles by winning the point over Katherine Robinson 7-5, 6-2.
Following Mass' win over Robinson, a winning trend for the Blue and Gold had set in, as Emilie Senepart won the line five point 7(7)-6(4), 6-0, Isabella Lazzerini won the line three point 7(7)-6(3), 6-2, and Taylor Conway claimed the final point in line four, in which that match went to a tie breaker third set and ultimately ended with Conway winning 5-7, 6-2, 10-3.
