The Mulerider men come off a trip to Tyler, Texas last weekend which saw them record a 1-2 record falling to two top 10 ranked teams in Lubbock Christian (#6) and UT-Tyler (#5) then defeating UT-Permian Basin.
Uwe Diehl had a fantastic weekend in Tyler going 6-0 and earning MIAA/GAC South Division Athlete of the week honors for his efforts. Against LCU, Diehl won the only doubles match against the Chaps and was responsible for one of the two team points winning his doubles match. He then played a pivotal role in the Muleriders winning the doubles point against #5 UT-Tyler then going on to win his singles match for the only other point recorded by the Blue and Gold. He then helped put away UTPB as he completed his perfect 6-0 weekend.
The Muleriders come into the weekend with a 2-3 overall record but will look to carry momentum from their win over UTPB into this weekend.
Southwest Baptist comes into the weekend with a 1-3 record overall and have losses against UT-Tyler, Ouachita Baptist, and Emporia State. Their lone win of the spring season came against the University of Saint Mary (Kan.) by a final of 6-1.
Delta State comes into the match with the Muleriders with a 4-2 overall record recording wins over Southeastern Oklahoma State, UT-Dallas, UT-Permian Basin, and Spring Hill College (Ala.). Their two losses on the year come by way of Western New Mexico University and #16 Lee University (Tenn.).
