KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Southern Arkansas' own Uwe Diehl has been named the MIAA/GAC South Division Athlete of the Week presented by ClassicCourt.
 
Diehl had a very successful weekend against top ranked teams in Tyler, Texas. Against the 6th ranked Lubbock Christian Chaps, Uwe and his doubles partner Jonas Sommer won the only doubles match of the game for the Muleriders at line one defeating the LCU pairing 6-3 then going on to win his singles match at line five (6-1, 7-6(4)).
 
He then played a pivotal role in helping the Muleriders win the doubles point against the #5 ranked UT-Tyler Patriots 7(10)-6(8). He then won the only other point of the game winning in straight sets (6-3, 7-5). In his final matches of the weekend, Diehl put the finishing touches on a perfect 6-0 weekend helping the Muleriders secure the doubles point winning 7-6 then winning his singles match in straight sets (7-5, 6-2).
 
For the weekend Uwe went 3-0 in doubles play and 3-0 in singles play.
