KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Southern Arkansas' own
Balsa Djokovic has been named the MIAA/GAC South Division Athlete of the Week presented by ClassicCourt.
Djokovic had a successful weekend in three matches played. Against Weatherford College, Balsa and his doubles partner,
Taiki Minamino, won 6-2 at line three, helping the team to claim the doubles point, then winning in three sets at line three singles, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. In the second match of the weekend against UT-Dallas, Djokovic won, and his partner,
Taiki Minamino, won their match yet again, this time at line two doubles 6-1. He then played line two in singles and won in three sets 6-2, 5-7, 1(10), 0(6). In his third match of the weekend, Djokovic played line three doubles against Cameron University as he and
Taiki Minamino got the only win for the Muleriders in doubles, winning 6-3. In singles play, he played at line three and won in three sets. After falling in the first match, he won 6-3 and 6-4.
On the weekend, Djokovic was 3-0 in doubles and 3-0 in singles play for a 6-0 overall record.
