Muleriders Set for Weekend Trip to Oklahoma

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas University Muleriders (5-7, 2-4 GAC) are set for a weekend road trip to Oklahoma for two games against Southeastern Oklahoma State (3-9, 2-4 GAC) and East Central (7-5, 2-4 GAC).

Broadcast Information
Thursday and Saturday's games will be broadcast live on the Southeastern Oklahoma State YouTube channel and the Ada Sports Network. The games will also be broadcast on 99.1 KVMZ with Dan Gregory calling all the action.
 
SAU Notables
>>> The Muleriders come into the week after falling to the Harding Bisons in their first game of 2026 by a final score of 52-66. Despite the loss, SAU shot 33.3% from beyond the arc with four players recording a three, as Greg Moore Jr. and Zac Pennington recorded two each. The bench points in the contest also favored the Muleriders as they scored 23 bench points compared to the Bisons' 19.
 
>>> Currently, the Muleriders are tied for 6th in the conference as five teams all sit with a 2-4 record in GAC play. Over the course of the next five games, SAU will play three teams that all start the week with a 2-4 league record. The five games also include two games against UAM and Southwestern Oklahoma State who currently both have a 1-5 record in GAC play. The Muleriders will need to perform well in the next five games to get momentum back and while continuing their quest for the conference tournament of which they missed out on last season for the first time since joining the GAC. Three out of the next five contests are also on the road as SAU makes the trip to Oklahoma this week.
 
>>> The Muleriders resumed conference play against Harding last week in the first game of 2026, but there is still a lot of basketball to play before the end-of-season tournament. SAU will have seven home games left on the schedule, along with nine road contests, including three weekend trips to Oklahoma, including a rematch with nationally ranked Southern Nazarene.
 
>>> Greg Moore Jr. continues to lead the team in many categories, including points (171), scoring average (14.3), three-point attempts (71), three-pointers made (27), free throws made (40), assists (35), and steals (20). Greg ranks 9th in the league in scoring average, 11th in assists, and 8th in steals.
 
>>> As a team, the Muleriders rank top five in the GAC in several categories, including scoring average (76.5 ppg), three-point field goals made (89 | 7.4 per game), and 3rd in free throw percentage (75.4%). SAU also ranks 6th in three-point percentage (33%) and 6th in team offensive rebounds (10.4 per game).
