Muleriders locked in for weekend clashes in central Oklahoma

MAGNOLIA, Ark. — After having nearly a week off from action due to icy roads, the Muleriders are set to warm back up with a road trip to central Oklahoma, where Southern Arkansas will take on Oklahoma Baptist (8-9 | 4-7 GAC) and Southern Nazarene (5-10 | 5-6 GAC).

SAU Broadcast Information

Friday's game against OBU will be broadcast live on the Oklahoma Baptist HUDL Fan Page, while the game against SNU will be broadcast live on the Southern Nazarene HUDL Fan Pagel. Both games will also be broadcast live on KVMZ 99.1 FM with Dan Gregory calling all the action.

SAU Notables

>>> The Muleriders have acquired them a pair of very much-needed wins in the Great American Conference, as Southern Arkansas has most recently defeated the then 19th-ranked Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers and the Arkansas-Monticello Cotton Blossoms. As of now, SAU is placed in sixth in the GAC standings with a 6-5 record in the league. 

>>> After last week's solo contest against the Cotton Blossoms, SAU's Elena Lijo-Rodriguez claimed her second weekly defensive honor in the league, as she was named the conference's co-Defensive Player of the Week. The Spaniard did this after tallying up 15 boards (11 defensive) and two blocks against UAM. 

>>> Still leading the Muleriders in scoring is Blythe Crawley, as the freshman has accounted for 231 points up to this point, with an average of 13.6 per game. Crawley is also the Blue and Gold's leader in three-pointers made with 36 shots made beyond the arc. Second on the team in scoring and leading the Muleriders in three-point percentage is Hope Bump. The Sand Spring, Oklahoma native has recorded 184 points this campaign, with an average of 10.8 per game, and has made 27-of-72 attempts from three-point range (37.5%). 

>>> Remaining at the top of the board for her boards recorded is Lijo-Rodriguez. The senior has brought in 122 rebounds this season, averaging 7.2 per game. She also leads the Muleriders in blocks with 31 recorded (3rd GAC). Still with defense, Marlee Bright continues to be catch opponents off guard with her ability to snatch the ball from her foes possession. The senior this season has accounted for league-high 57 steals (17th DII), while averaging 3.35 steals per game (16th DII). Bright has also been a key factor on offense, orchestrating the offense with her 73 assists (1st GAC) and 4.3 assists per game (1st GAC). 

>>> Southern Arkansas currently ranks eighth in the league for scoring offense, averaging 66.4 points per game, while ranking third in the GAC for scoring defense, averaging just 61.6 points allowed per game. 

OBU Notables

>>> For the Bison, the herd has most recently split a pair of contests, as OBU first lost at Henderson State 78-61, and then returned home and defeated Southern Nazarene 81-73. 

>>> Leading the Bison and GAC in scoring is Jaedyn Getman, as she has recorded 369 points (12th DII) this season with an average of 21.7 per game (6th DII). Getman leads the Great American Conference in multiple offensive categories, which also include double-doubles (8 | 21st DII), field goal attempts (286 | 14th DII), field goals made (134 | 16th DII), and free throw percentage (93.4% | 71-76 | 1st DII). 

>>> Getman not only is Oklahoma Baptist's leader in nearly all offensive categories, but she also leads the Bison off the backboard, with 151 rebounds (3rd GAC) this season. Getman's average of 8.9 rebounds per game in fourth-best in the GAC. 

>>> This season, Oklahoma Baptist currently ranks seventh in the league for scoring offense, averaging 68.6 points per game, but ranks seventh in the GAC for scoring defense, allowing 68.1 points per game. 

SNU Notables

>>> Much like their central Oklahoma counterparts, the Crimson Storm split their last two outings, with a road win over Ouachita Baptist (84-83), which was followed by a road loss at Oklahoma Baptist (81-73). 

>>> Southern Nazarene has four players with at least 100+ points scored this season, and leading that group is Jillian Crawford. Crawford leads the Crimson Storm in scoring with her 152 and 10.1 points per game average. 

>>> Leading the Crimson Storm in rebounds this season is currently Hannah Duncan with 70 boards. Duncan is currently averaging 4.7 rebound per game and also leads the group in blocks with 12. 

>>> Southern Nazarene's offense is currently ranked ninth in the GAC, averaging 63.4 points per game, while the unit's defense also ranks ninth with an average of 68.7 points allowed per game.
