Muleriders Set for Ranked Road Matchups After Long Layoff

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas University Muleriders (7-10, 4-7 GAC) are set for their weekend trip to Oklahoma after a long layoff due to weather for games against the number 15th ranked Oklahoma Baptist (15-2, 9-2 GAC) and Southern Nazarene (13-4, 7-4 GAC).

SAU Notables
>>> SAU fell on Thursday night to UAM in Monticello, Arkansas by a final score of 57-68. Jair Horton was the team's leading scorer with 14-points while also tying for the leading rebounder with six rebounds. To add to his stat line, Horton totaled two assists, one block and one steal. Troy'reon Ramos also finished in double digit scoring with 10-points and one steal.
 
>>> Greg Moore Jr. still ranks second in the league in free throw shooting with a mark of 88.5%. Greg is also seventh in the league in scoring average with 14.1 points per game.
 
>>> The Muleriders continue their extended travel trip this weekend as they head to Shawnee and Bethany, Oklahoma for two games against ranked teams. The Blue and Gold will open against Oklahoma Baptist who the Muleriders defeated earlier in the season in Magnolia by a final of 80-78. In their first matchup with SNU, the Muleriders fell to the Crimson Storm by a final score of 69-79 inside the W.T. Watson. The road trip will be a chance for SAU to get revenge on SNU while also going for the season sweep against Oklahoma Baptist.
 
>>> SAU currently ranks third in the GAC in team free throw percentage with a mark of 75.9%
 
>>> The Muleriders are currently tied for eighth in the conference standings with UAM and are one game back out of being tied for seventh place in the league. The Muleriders will need to string together a couple wins down the last stretch of conference play in order to secure a spot in the tournament this year.
 
OBU Notables
>>> The Bison are one of the hottest teams in the GAC right now as they are winners of their last six in a row collecting wins over Harding, Ouachita Baptist, and #18 Southern Nazarene. OBU beat SNU 84-61 in Shawnee early last week as they moved themselves securely into second place in the league.
 
>>> OBU is averaging 80.5 points per game ranking them first in the GAC in scoring average per game. The Bison also shoot 47.6% from the field (2nd GAC), 30.6% from beyond the arc, and 68.7% from the charity stripe.
 
>>> Terry Coner Jr. leads the team in scoring with 352 total points and averages 20.7 points per game. Coner is second in the league in scoring average and is coming off winning his fourth Player of the Week honor this season. Coner also leads the team in assists with 60.
 
>>> Joshua Udoumoh leads the team in rebounding with 97 total while averaging 5.7 rebounds per game. Erik Madrid leads the team in blocks with 15.

>>> The Crimson Storm are currently 7-4 in conference play and are 13-4 overall while currently riding a two-game losing streak dropping games to Ouachita Baptist and Oklahoma Baptist.
 
>>> SNU is averaging 75.6 points per game while shooting 44.7% from the field, 30.4% from beyond the arc and 76.5% from the charity stripe. They currently rank fourth in the league in scoring average and fourth in scoring defense.
 
>>> Baron Bracey leads the team in scoring with 247 total points and averages 14.5 points per game. His mark is good for sixth in the conference. Bracey also leads the team in rebounds with 145 total and averages 7.9 rebounds per game.
