ADA, Okla. — Southern Arkansas (8-6 | 4-4 GAC) wrapped up its first trip to the Sooner State, as the Muleriders took on the East Central Tigers (7-5 | 3-5 GAC) inside the Kerr Activities Center. After coming back, after being down 33-20 at half, the Tigers ended up winning the contest with a 61-56 final score.
Shiloh Fletcher led SAU with 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting, showing efficiency and steady production throughout the game. Elena Lijo-Rodriguez added 11 points with 5-of-7 shooting, giving the Muleriders a reliable scoring punch early and keeping SAU competitive. Hope Bump also chipped in 8 points, battling on both ends. Kennedy Moss contributed 7 points and 5 rebounds.
Southern Arkansas jumped out sharp, shooting over 50 percent in the opening period. SAU built early momentum with Fletcher hitting consistently and Lijo-Rodriguez converting efficiently inside. The Muleriders outscored ECU 14-9 to take the first quarter advantage, forcing ECU to adjust defensively.
The Blue and Gold continued to find good looks early, especially from deep. SAU held steady and managed to score 19 points in the quarter, building a 16-point lead at 33-17. However, East Central chipped into the Muleriders' lead within the last minute of the half with a made three ball, going into the half with SAU leading 33-20.
The third quarter proved pivotal. ECU came out with energy and took control, outscoring Southern Arkansas 21-10. SAU struggled to find rhythm offensively, shooting just 26.7 percent, and couldn't stop ECU's scoring runs. That stretch opened up the door to East Central for momentum, as the Tigers brought the game back within two going into the fourth period, 43-41.
The Tigers quickly grabbed the lead, going up 46-43, and Southern Arkansas was unable to to reclaim its lead for the remainder of the period, with ECU outscoring SAU 15-13 for the rest of the quarter.

The Muleriders finally end their road stretch and head back to Magnolia, as the Blue and Gold will take on Southwestern Oklahoma State and Northwestern Oklahoma State next week inside the W.T. Watson Center on Thursday 5:30 PM and Saturday at 1:00 PM.
