MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southern Arkansas Men's Tennis delivered a dominant 7-0 sweep over Southeastern Oklahoma on Senior Day at the Live Oak Tennis Courts, securing a spot in the upcoming MIAA/GAC Conference Tournament set for April 30–May 2 in Edmond, Oklahoma.
The Muleriders set the tone early, grabbing the doubles point with two 6-3 wins. Tim Fischer and Uwe Diehl claimed victory at line one, while Lluc Pasqual and Jinsei Tajima took care of business at line two.
SAU carried that momentum into singles play, earning straight-set wins across five of six courts. No. 47 Tim Fischer battled back for a 3-6, 6-4, 10-2 win at the top spot. Frode Neumann followed with a 6-3, 6-2 win at line two, and David Wallechner cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 result at line three.
Seniors Tajima and Pasqual each delivered solid performances, winning at lines four (6-2, 7-6) and five (6-2, 6-4), respectively. Diehl capped off the sweep with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at line six, sealing the Muleriders' perfect day.
With the win, SAU turns its attention to the postseason, ready to compete in the MIAA/GAC Tournament at the end of the month.
