SEARCY, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas Men's Tennis team fell in a closely fought 4-3 contest to Harding on Friday, April 11.
The Muleriders dropped the doubles point despite a solid 6-3 win from senior duo Jinsei Tajima and Lluc Pasqual on court two. Losses at lines one and three gave Harding the early edge.
In singles action, SAU showed resilience. Frode Neumann earned a 6-2, 6-4 win at line three, while David Wallechner rallied from a set down to win 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 at line five. Pasqual added a 7-6 (5), 6-1 victory on court six, tying the match at 3-3.
The deciding match came down to Tajima on court one. After dropping the first set 5-7, he responded with a dominant 6-2 second set. The third set went to a tiebreak, where Tajima ultimately fell 6-7 (2), sealing the win for Harding.
The Muleriders now prepare for their final home match of the season and Senior Day on Thursday, April 17, against Southeastern Oklahoma. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
