Team 27 Claims Game One On The Road Over East Central

ADA, Okla. — A low scoring affair took place in Eastern Oklahoma this afternoon as the Muleriders drove into the Sooner State and took game one from the East Central Tigers after a final score of 4-0. With the triumph, Southern Arkansas advances to 33-5 overall with a 23-1 record in the Great American Conference and have now advanced its winning ways to 23 games in a row.

The Muleriders saw flashes from the bats as the Blue and Gold accounted for a pair of home runs off the bats of Regan Dillon and Kelsie Adams while also seeing a couple doubles off the bat of Savannah Clausen. SAU once again turned to Brinson Rogers in the circle as the senior from Statesboro, Georgia recorded her 23rd victory of the season (23-2) after fanning 11 ECU batters and allowing just one hit and one walk. With the outing, Rogers accounted for complete game number 18 and shutout number 15 while also exceeding the 150 innings pitched marked (151.2).

Dillon's homer, her tenth of the season, came in the top of the third as the junior out of Bryant, Arkansas sailed the ball over the center field wall for a solo home run and a 1-0 lead.

SAU was held to the one run for the remainder of the third inning but would be on the attack early in the top of the fourth as Clausen tallied her second double of the evening to score America Rubio after the redshirt-junior walked to leadoff the inning, 2-0.

Run number three for the Muleriders came in the top of the fifth as with two outs and Cassidy Lear base-running at third base, Jocelyn Ulrich singled to left field to score the senior from Greenbrier, Arkansas for the 3-0 lead.

The final run for Southern Arkansas and the game came off the bat of Kelsie Adams as the junior from Van Alstyne, Texas launched the ball over the center field wall for a solo shot to increase the Blue and Gold lead to 4-0.

After surrendering her lone walk of the contest, Rogers shut down the Tiger offense in the bottom of the seventh with a fly out, strikeout swinging, and a pop out to Jenna Huey at first base.
