Mulerider Tennis Teams Set for Conference Matchup Against Harding

MAGNOLIA, Ark. — The Southern Arkansas Mulerider Men's and Women's Tennis teams are headed to Searcy this weekend for a key conference matchup against Harding University. First serve is set for 2 p.m. at the David Elliott Tennis Complex.

The nationally ranked Mulerider Women come in at No. 38 in the latest ITA rankings, released Wednesday morning. Individually, Amelie Gindl maintains her position as the No. 4 singles player in the nation, while Josie Holderbach jumps to No. 24.

Harding's Women's team enters the weekend with an 8-10 overall record and a 1-1 conference mark. The Lady Bisons recently swept Arkansas Tech and fell 4-3 to Henderson State. Harding standout Alexia Zarate Valdez holds the No. 12 national singles ranking, with Karli Roux coming in at No. 47. The pair is also ranked No. 40 in doubles. When the two teams met last year Southern Arkansas defeated Harding 5-2.

On the men's side, the Muleriders hold a No. 46 national team ranking. Mathys Pinoit sits at No. 40 in singles, while Tim Fischer checks in at No. 49.

The Harding Men are 11-4 overall and 1-0 in conference play following a 7-0 sweep of Arkansas-Fort Smith. Cas De Ruiter leads the Bisons with a No. 10 singles ranking, followed closely by Adrian Solorzano at No. 19. Together, they form the No. 27-ranked doubles team. Last year the Muleriders defeated the Bisons 7-0.
