MIDLOTHIAN, Texas - The Mulerider Men's Tennis team delivered an impressive performance, securing victories over McKendree and No. 39 Western New Mexico in a doubleheader down in Texas.
The day began with a 4-1 win against McKendree, with Diehl/Tajima and Neumann/Wallechner securing the doubles point on lines two and three. In singles play, Mathys Pinoit battled to a three-set victory on line one (6-1, 5-7, 6-2), marking his 20th career singles win. David Wallechner claimed a 6-2, 7-5 win on line three, while Frode Neumann sealed his match with a 6-2, 7-5 victory on line four.
In the second match, the Muleriders dominated No. 39 Western New Mexico with a 4-0 sweep. Pinoit/Müller secured the doubles win on line one, while Neumann/Wallechner claimed another victory on line three. The match was clinched with three straight-set singles wins as Pinoit cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory on line one, Wallechner secured a 6-0, 6-4 win on line three, and Tim Fischer delivered a 6-3, 6-1 triumph on line two.
The Muleriders now prepare for a showdown against No. 7 Lubbock Christian tomorrow at 10 a.m.
