Box Score CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Mulerider Men's Tennis team extended their winning streak with a hard-fought 4-3 victory over the Delta State Statesmen.
Southern Arkansas narrowly missed securing the doubles point with a strong performance from Niklas Müller and Mathys Pinoit, who claimed a 6-3 win on line one against Hernandez/Ortiz. Lluc Pasqual and Jinsei Tajima battled on line two but fell short in a 5-7 contest against Browning/Komnenic.
Pinoit quickly tied the score with a dominant 6-4, 6-0 win on line two over Sebastian Hernandez. Frode Neumann followed up with a 6-2, 6-2 victory on line four, giving the Muleriders a 2-1 lead. However, losses on lines one and three put Southern Arkansas in a 2-3 deficit.
Tajima answered back with an impressive 6-0, 6-1 win over Tom Rance at line six, changing the score to 3-3. In a clutch performance, senior Pasqual displayed resilience under pressure, and secured the deciding point for the Muleriders with a 7-5, 7-5 victory over Jacob Lubbe. The win also marked a milestone for Pasqual, as he earned his 40th career singles victory.
The Muleriders will return to action on Friday (March 7) for a doubleheader against McKendree and Western New Mexico, with the first serve set for 10:00 a.m.
