WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The Muleriders concluded their trip today in West Oklahoma as Southern Arkansas met the Bulldogs one final time at SWOSU Softball Field. The Blue and Gold looked to continue its winnings ways as the squad had already won 15 straight, well now the unit has claimed their 16
th straight triumph as the Muleriders defeated the Bulldogs 3-0 and swept the series. With the win, and a Harding loss, Southern Arkansas is now the outright number one team in the Great American Conference standings at 16-1 in the GAC.
SAU prevailed in the finale matchup with Southwestern Oklahoma in a defensive brawl as the Muleriders through five innings were only able to put up one run after recording a 15-run game the night before.
At the end of it all, that one run was all SAU needed, and it came off the bat of
Cassidy Lear batting in
Kelsie Adams to home to go up 1-0 in the top of the second.
Southern Arkansas would add some insurance later as the group saw
Jenna Huey take advantage of a pair of runners in scoring position with a double to score
Savannah Clausen and
America Rubio for the 3-0 advantage and final score thanks to another
Brinson Rogers shutout victory.
Rogers in game three finished with 12 Ks, three walks, five hits, and her 14
th complete game of the campaign. Before the weekend series, the Statesboro, Georgia native led DII with 148 strikeouts and has now accounted for 173 fanned batters with her 25 in 14.0 innings of work. The senior has now tallied her 18
th victory of the season.

Southern Arkansas is set to be back home for the group's GAC series with the Henderson State Reddies. The series is set to begin on Friday, March 28 with a single game at 4:00 PM and will conclude on Saturday with the series doubleheader starting at 2:00 PM.
