SAU falls to Savage Storm on the road

DURANT, Okla. — Southern Arkansas (11-11 | 6-10) traveled to Southeastern Oklahoma for their contest with the Savage Storm (15-7 | 12-4). The Muleriders fell in their final contest in the Sooner State by a final of 56-74.

The Blue and Gold started off hot against one of the Great American Conference's best units this season as the Muleriders jumped out to a 20-12 lead after the first period.

Southeastern Oklahoma State did not let that first period deficit last long as the Savage Storm bolted back against Southern Arkansas with a 6-22 blast in the second period.

The Muleriders fixed the offensive issues from quarter two, but would still not be able to out-do the Storm for the remainder of the contest as SE cruised to their 15th win of the season.

Accounting for her third-consecutive 40+ point week was Tequaza Chambers as the senior from Plain Dealing, Louisiana scored 17 points against the Savage Storm while leading the team in scoring. Chambers also led the team in steals (3) and led the group in rebounds (5).

Top Performers:

Tequaza Chambers: 17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists

Marlee Bright: 9 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals
