MAGNOLIA, Ark. - The Muleriders are set to travel to Arkadelphia this weekend for a doubleheader against Central Arkansas. Due to inclement weather, the match has been moved indoors, with the first serve set for noon, followed by the second match at 4:30 p.m. Southern Arkansas currently holds a national ranking of #18, with Amelie Gindl and Maria Fiacan ranked #12 and #48 in the national singles standings, respectively.
Southern Arkansas opened its 2025 season in late January with a pair of exhibition matches against Louisiana Tech and Louisiana Christian. Despite a 2-5 loss to Louisiana Tech, the team rebounded with a commanding 4-0 victory over Louisiana Christian.
Sophomore duo Amelie Gindl and Josie Holderbach remained unbeaten in doubles play, while Gindl also maintained a perfect singles record. Newcomer Ifigeneia Kafka made an impressive debut, securing a 4-6, 6-0, 6-1 comeback win against Louisiana Tech. Teaming up with Maria Fiacan in doubles, the pair dominated LCU with a 6-2 victory before Fiacan delivered a decisive 6-0, 6-2 singles win over LCU's Patricia Principal.Â

The Muleriders have yet to secure a victory against Central Arkansas. Their last matchup took place in the spring of 2021, with the Sugar Bears winning 5-2.
Central Arkansas faced a challenging exhibition match against Ouachita Baptist and emerged victorious with a 4-3 win. The Sugar Bear claimed the doubles point and then secured three singles victories at line three, four, and five.Â
Vichitraporn Vimuktananda, the Sugar Bears' No. 1 singles player, has a 3-1 record in singles play and a 3-2 record in doubles. The senior secured 13 singles victories last season, all at the No. 1 position.Â
