MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas University Muleriders (9-11, 6-8) fell to the 21st ranked Southern Nazarene University Crimson Storm (16-2, 13-1) by a final score of 83-62.
The Crimson Storm would come out firing on all cylinders going on a 6-0 run to start the game. SAU would get on the board as
Christian Caldwell converted one of two free throws but SNU still held a 6-1 lead. SNU would open up a 13-point lead with 10:46 to go in the first half but the Muleriders would not let the game get out of hand.
SAU would be able to convert some late shots to close the gap to just four points with 59 second before intermission but a late three pointer by the Crimson Storm would give them a seven-point advantage going into halftime, 39-32.
The men would come out of halftime finding their rhythm on offense going on a 6-0 run for the first three minutes of the second half cutting the Crimson Storm lead to just one at the 17:50 mark of the second half. SNU would not let the game stay close for long as their offense got hot and the Muleriders seemingly could not keep up as they fell to SNU snapping a three-game winning streak for the Muleriders.
