MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas University Men's Basketball team (3-3, 0-0 GAC) opens Great American Conference play this weekend with a pair of ranked opponents beginning with the 6th ranked Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm (6-0, 0-0 GAC) followed by the 15th ranked Oklahoma Baptist Bison (6-0, 0-0 GAC). The Muleriders will play SNU on Thursday, December 4th, at 7:30 p.m. and Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday, December 6th, at 3:00 p.m.

>>> The Muleriders ended last week with a 2-1 record, picking up a big win against Mississippi College in the first home game of the season for SAU, followed by their first 100-point performance against UT-Dallas, winning 100-79. The Muleriders fell to DBU in the last non-conference game of the season. SAU will look to get back to its winning ways with two tough opponents coming to town in SNU and OBU
>>> Greg Moore Jr. continues to be a standout for the Muleriders as he had an eventful weekend. Greg leads the Muleriders in several stats categories, including scoring (104 total points), assists (23), steals (13), three pointers made (18), and free throws made (24-26 | 92.3%). The Mississippi Valley State transfer also ranks 7th in the GAC in points, 5th in three-point percentage (51.5%), 4th in assists (23), and 8th in steals (13).
>>> As a team, the Muleriders are first in the GAC in three-point percentage as they are shooting 40.5% from deep and have converted on 53 made threes so far this season. The team is also second in free-throw percentage with a mark of 75.8% from the charity stripe. SAU ranks third in scoring offense with 85.3 points per game.
>>> Junior Williams continues to be a standout player for the Muleriders alongside
Greg Moore Jr. The freshman ranks 4th in the GAC in field goal percentage with a mark of 73.3%. Williams also ranks 14th in the GAC in rebounding and is averaging five rebounds per game with 30 total rebounds.
>>> The Muleriders have been road warriors throughout their non-conference schedule, playing five out of their six contests so far on the road, including trips to Pittsburg, Kansas, Claremore, Oklahoma, and Dallas, Texas. The Muleriders went 2-3 on the road against some tough competition in the non-conference slate, which included preseason-ranked Dallas Baptist and preseason receiving votes Rogers State. Their big win of the slate came at home as they knocked off Mississippi College, which entered the contest on a three-game winning streak.
