Game Recap: Women's Volleyball | | By: Jonathan Briggs

Mulerider Volleyball falls 3-1 on the road at Oklahoma Baptist

SHAWNEE, Okla. — Mulerider Volleyball (8-13 | 3-5 GAC) journeyed to central Oklahoma for their matchup with the Oklahoma Baptist Bison (14-6 | 6-2 GAC). After winning their last four matches, the Muleriders dropped tonight's outing after falling 3-1 on the road.

Once more having an outstanding outing by leading both her team and the game with kills, Springtown, Texas native Brinklee Dauenhauer recorded another double-digit kill night with 19. She also recorded her seventh double-double of the season after tallying 12 digs.

First Set (W, 25-19)

The Muleriders came into this contest with a chip on their shoulder as the Blue and Gold looked to knock off one of the top teams in the Great American Conference while on the road. After a slow start to the evening, starting down 9-4, SAU flipped the script on the Bison with a 7-3 stretch to tie the set at 11-11. After a brief reclaiming of the lead for OBU, the Muleriders rattled off three-straight points to snatch the lead at 14-12. The Blue and Gold went on to hold the lead and expand their advantage to a 25-19 set one win.

Second Set (L, 25-14)

The Bison did not back down lightly after the Muleriders had gained their first set lead over OBU since 2022. Oklahoma Baptist gained and stretched its lead to go on and win the second set 25-14.

Third Set (L, 25-19)

After an early 5-0 lead for the Muleriders, the Bison stormed back and eventually tied the set at 7-7, and then took the lead at 8-7. After punches going back-and-forth, Oklahoma Baptist eventually began to pull away and went on to win the third set 25-19.

Fourth Set (L, 25-13)

Similar to set three, Southern Arkansas not only hung around with OBU, but stayed right with them for the majority of both teams' first ten points. The separation for Oklahoma Baptist came with an SAU attack error to give the Bison a 10-8 advantage. The group took that initial lead and ran with it by only allowing five more points the remainder of the set and finishing the fourth set up 25-13.

Next Up:
