MOBILE, AL. – Melvin Smith Jr. has received and accepted an invite to the 2025 Reese's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.
Smith Jr., a native of Bossier City, Louisiana has spent the last four seasons with the Muleriders after graduating from Airline High School. Throughout his career with SAU, Melvin has played in 45 games totaling 167 tackles, 37 pass breakups and nine total interceptions.
In his senior season (2024), the senior defensive back recorded 37 total tackles, a career-high five interceptions and six pass breakups. He also recorded a 99-yard kick return for a touchdown against Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

Melvin Smith Jr. "I'm beyond blessed to be surrounded by a great support system as well. Blessed to be acknowledged and given the chance to showcase my talent on a platform like the Reese's Senior Bowl."
