EDMOND, Okla. - True freshman Collin Spangler fired a career-best 70 behind a seven-birdie round to lead Southern Arkansas in round two at the Central/Midwest Regional from KickingBird Golf Club in Edmond, Oklahoma. The Muleriders shot 290 in round two and dropped six spots in the team leaderboard to sit at T16th (574, +14) with 18 holes to play.
Spangler enters the third round tied for 64th. Will Blake took over for Wil Griffin II and finished his first career postseason round at 76. He registered three birdies.
Caleb Miller, who held a share of the lead after Thursday's action, shot a 73 on Friday and is currently tied for 12th; the sixth-highest ranked golfer not on a team near or at the current cut line.
Logan McDonald shot a 74 and Connor Harrington improved by seven strokes with a round two 73.
Southern Arkansas hits the course for its final round of regional action. The Muleriders are currently 11 strokes back of the would-be cut line. Blake hits the course at 8:20 AM from hole #10 and Miller is last out for SAU at 9 AM. Live scoring available at www.MuleriderAthletics.com.
