DURANT, Okla. – Southern Arkansas concludes the regular season after falling to the Savage Storm while on the road in a back-and-forth contest to the very end. Team 26 will be the four-seed in next week's tournament and will compete against the winner of the matchup between 5-seed Arkansas Tech and whoever claims the 8-seed.
Game Three
SEOSU Won, 4-5
Paris, Arkansas native,
Sydney Ward started the rubber match and pitched throughout the first four innings, but was relieved for
Brinson Rogers entering the fifth as Southeastern Oklahoma State recorded eight hits, five runs (three earned), and three walks. Rogers' tenure in the circle saw her allow just one hits with no runs and one walk while also striking out five of the eight batters she faced.
A home run by
Bella Angelo (her second of the week) stated things off for the Mulerider bats in the second inning.
Regan Dillon added another run on the board in the third as the sophomore doubled and batted in
Savannah Clausen for the 2-0 lead. In the home half of the third, SEOSU accounted for their double and RBI to cut the advantage to 2-1. After a scoreless fourth for SAU, the Savage Storm put to runners on and scored both as Southeastern notched another double to claim the lead at 2-3.
Ariana Rolle retaliated in the fifth with her own double to score
Morgan McAlexander (3-3). Rolle was the advanced to score due to another base hit by Dillon in the fifth (4-3). The Savage Storm batted in another pair of runs in the fifth due to a couple singles to advance runners home (4-5). Batters for both parties went three up and down in the sixth. The Muleriders at the bottom of the lineup had a couple of outs to start the seventh until Rolle posted her third hit of the day with a double up the middle. Rolle would be stranded on base however as
