BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Emma Hester closed out her sophomore campaign from the par-72, 6,005-yard course of The Club at Forest Ridge with a top 20 finish at the Great American Conference Championship as she shot a round three 78 to finish with a 54-hole total of 237 and tied for 16
th. Southern Arkansas posted its tournament-best round of 327 to finish at 994 and in tenth place.
Hester delivered two of the team's five birdies on Tuesday and finished round three with nine pars. Sophomore
Aubrey Marx logged a top 30 finish as her 82 on Tuesday moved her into a tie for 28
th.
Graduate
Taylor Rich shot her best round of the tournament as an 81 over her final 18 holes saw her climb four spots to finish tied for 36
th in her final action as a Mulerider.
Taylor-Rose Hubbard shot a 90 to finish 45
th with a 265 and
Aurea Carlisle registered a round three 86, her best round of the tournament, to finish at 272 and in 46
th.
SAU made 113 pars and sank 13 birdies. Marx led with 30 pars. Hester recorded 26 and Rich followed with two dozen. Hubbard made par 17 times and Carlisle trailed with 16. Hester's six birdies led the team, Carlisle added four, Rich made two and Marx sank one.
Carlisle paced the club with a +2 effort in par-3 scoring; one of only five golfers to shoot that or better over 54 holes of play. Hester led SAU in par-5 scoring at +1 and Marx followed at +2.
