MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southern Arkansas Women's Tennis remained unbeaten after winning twice with a 4-3 home-opening win over #21 Mississippi College and a decisive 6-1 victory against Texas-Permian Basin.
In their Saturday morning home opener, SAU faced a tough challenge as they dropped the doubles point. At line one, Wallin and Berrendorf fell short with a score of 6-2. Similarly, at line two, Lintz and Kokocha faced strong opposition, ultimately losing 6-4.
The Muleriders rallied back with remarkable performances in singles action. Berrendorf showcased her skills at line two, securing a solid 6-4, 6-4 victory. Gindl continued the winning streak at line three with a convincing 6-3, 6-3 win.
The highlight of the day came from Kokocha at line six, who staged an incredible comeback after being down 1-6, 1-4, ultimately winning 1-6, 6-4, 6-1. Finally, Wallin delivered a clutch performance at line one, clinching the win for the Muleriders with a hard-fought victory of 7-5, 4-6, 7-5.
The following day, SAU dominated the Falcons with all three doubles teams winning to secure the opening point. Berrendorf won in three sets at line two and the Muleriders used an imposing win by
Amelie Gindl at line three (6-0, 6-1) plus victories at lines four, five and six to run its win streak to four matches and has now won eight of its ten matches dating back to last season.
