Box Score Magnolia, Ark – The Southern Arkansas Men's Tennis team dropped its third straight match to the Tyler Junior College Apache on Wednesday afternoon. The Muleriders battled but fell 6-0 at the Live Oak Tennis Courts.
Freshmen Marius Braun and Junior Tim Fischer struggled at line No.1 dropping 6-2. The SAU men failed to come back after this fall, and lost the doubles point as Gabriel Breitenmoser and teammate Ben Schneider drop 6-4.
Going into singles, the Mulerider men put up a fight at multiple lines but could not secure a win at any line. Matthew Tennant at line four tried to give the Muleriders an opportunity in the first set, but could not finish it, losing 7-5, and failed to get his momentum back up dropping the second set 6-1. Similarly, teammate Lluc Pasqual lost 6-4 6-1 at line three.
Ben Schneider was the closest to putting a point on the board for the Muleriders. After dropping the close first set 7-5, the fight continued, but Schneider did not have enough to take the second set, falling 7-6 (3). The Muleriders men record moves to 2-5 as they look to bounce back from a 3-match losing streak.
