Box Score MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas Men's Tennis Team came out with a win against Texas Permian Basin in a close matchup on Wednesday. The Muleriders jumped out to secure the match with a 4-0 lead but played through to conclude the match 4-3 in favor of SAU.
Starting with doubles, the Mulerider men snagged the edge over Texas Permian Basin. At line No.2 SAU's Adrian Gheorge and Matthew Tennant defeated UTPB's Hector Flores and Grzegorz Rudnick 6-3. To Clinch the doubles point, SAU's Ole Valkyser and Gabriel Breitenmoser pushed past UTPB 6-4.
In singles, SAU got wins from lines one, two and four. At line No. 1 Sander Jans closed the door of UTPB's Kosinski 6-3 6-3. Fischer battled to win in three sets against Katsuda 6-4 2-6 6-2. Finishing it off, Ole Valkyser came out on top after a hard fight with UTPB's Rudnick 7-6 (3), 4-6 6-2.
