BETHANY, Okla. – The Southern Arkansas University Baseball team claimed the series win over Southern Nazarene after a 5-4 win in game one and 13-5 win in game two of the afternoon double header. Game One
Southern Arkansas Notes
*Jeremy Adorno started things off for the Muleriders on the mound. The sophomore was tabbed with his fourth win of the season following an outing that saw two runs on three hits and two walks. Chance Bolter picked things up in the eighth inning where he allowed two hits and held the Crimson Storm to zero earned runs. Isiah Haynes finished things off for the Muleriders, securing the final three outs of the game. Haynes allowed one hit but struck out three in the ninth. The Mulerider pitching staff combined for 13 strikeouts, nine of which were dealt by Adorno.
*Riley Orr and Jackson Duke both recorded three-hit days with Duke recording the only extra base hit of the contest. Brandon Nicoll and Conner Allen additionally recorded multiple hits.
*Both teams were held runless through four innings until the Mulerider offense took over in the top of the fifth where they scored one run. Jackson Duke started things off for the Muleriders with a triple to right center before Chris Sutton drove him home on a single to left.
*The Muleriders saw another three runs in the sixth inning. Conner Allen began offensive production with a single to left and advanced to second on a Mikey McGinnis walk. Jackson Duke notched his second hit of the day to plate Allen and advance McGinnis to second. Sutton drew a walk to load the bases for two consecutive hit by pitches that drove in the final two runs of the inning.
*Three consecutive singles from Riley Orr, Brett McGee and Sutton gained the Muleriders a much-needed insurance run and gave SAU a three-run lead in the ninth
Southern Nazarene Notes
*Oliver Wilson started on the mound for the Crimson Storm in game one of the double header. Wilson tossed 5.2 innings that saw four runs on ten hits and three walks. Zach Ishman tossed 0.1 innings where he hit two batters and struck out the third. Lane Behymer rounded things out for the home team, throwing the final three innings where he allowed one run on three hits.
*Drake Irby recorded the only multi-hit game for SNU, recording two base knocks and scoring two runs. O'Shea Whiteside plated two batters on one hit.
*SNU found their way onto the board in the seventh inning where they posted two runs on two hits. D. Irby singled and advanced to second on a Tanner Bare walk before both were driven home by an Whiteside double to right.
*The Crimson Storm worked away at the three-run SAU lead in the bottom of the ninth to cut the final Mulerider lead to a single run. A SAU fielding error allowed the Storm their first base runner of the inning. Weston Hicks sent Irby home on a double to right center before Noah Edmon took over pinch running responsibilities for Hicks. Cole Embery recorded SNU's final hit of the game, a single to center field that plated their fourth and final run of the contest.
Game Two

*Will Richardson and Brandon Nicoll recorded three-hit outings in game two of the Friday double header. Sutton and Lyles each notched two hits while all but one of the starting nine recorded hits. Sutton notched the team's seventh triple of the season while McGee and Nicoll saw home runs number 19 and 20 for the team.
*Mikel Howell, Carson Cheek, Dawson Hurford and Maddux Soloman combined efforts from the mound for the five-run SNU final. Howell tossed the first 3.0 innings, allowing three runs on six hits. Cheek followed with 2.0 hitless innings that saw four strikeouts. Hurford made an appearance for the sixth inning where he allowed the final SNU run on two hits. Soloman wrapped efforts up with just one hit and one walk in the final inning.
*The second inning saw the first run of game two. Nicoll began the inning with a double to right center before advancing to third on an Allen bunt single. Chris Lyles batted in SAU's first run with a sac fly to center that plated Nicoll.
*Back-to-back singles from Sutton and Orr in the second inning allowed for two Muleriders to be in the right place at the right time for a McGee bomb to right field. McGee's home run represents his fifth of the year and stands as most of the Muleriders alongside Allen. Chris Lyles drove home the fourth run of the inning, singling through the right side to score Nicoll who has singled after McGee left yard. Allen had drawn a walk after Nicoll's base knock and was plated on a throwing error by the first baseman that additionally allowed McGinnis to reach base safely. Richardson singled to left field to drive home the sixth and final Mulerider run of the inning.
*Lyles began the second inning with a walk and was advanced to second on a McGinnis groundout. Richardson singled to second that placed Mulerider runners on the corners. In a failed attempt to steal second, Richardson allowed Lyles to steal home and snag SAU's eighth run of the contest. Duke drew a walk but wasn't on base long as Chris Sutton knocked a triple to center to score the second run of the inning.
*Nicoll smoked a solo homer to right field in SAU's first at bat of the sixth inning which was just the beginning of a four-run inning. Conner Allen drew a walk before advancing to second on a Lyles single up the middle. McGinnis scored Allen on a single up the middle before advancing to second on the throw, placing two Muleriders in scoring position. Lyles represented the third run of the inning as the junior found his way home on a muffed throw by the pitcher. Richardson singled through the left side to place SAU runners on the corners. Sutton secured the final run of the inning with a sac fly to the center fielder.
Southern Nazarene Notes
*Six Crimson Storm pitchers combined for the final 7.0 innings of work this afternoon. Starting pitcher Patrick Hine allowed five earned runs on five hits in 2.2 innings of work. Zach Isham let up two runs over two innings and Cobey Gorrell allowed the final four in his 0.0 inning outing.
*The Crimson Storm tied the contest up at one run apiece in the bottom of the second. Wilson singled to begin offense efforts for SNU. Irby drew a walk to advance Wilson to second before Embry recorded a base knock to send Wilson home for the tying run.
*SNU posted their second run of the afternoon in the fourth inning following for consecutive at bats that resulted in four base runners. Hicks began the inning with a single before Wilson was hit by a pitch and Irby walked to load the bases. Whiteside notched the second hit of the inning, a single through the right side that plated Hicks for the second SNU run of the day. Dax Edmons brought home their final run of the inning with a sacrifice fly that allowed Wilson to head home.
*Southern Nazarene cut the Mulerider lead to eight runs in the sixth inning when Edmonds hit a two-run home run to score Embry who had singled previously in the inning.
