Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Southern Arkansas Women's Tennis team got off to a good start on Saturday afternoon as Greg Owen's Muleriders won convincingly over Delta State with a 6-1 decision in the season opener from the Ward Tennis Center in Arkadelphia.

Southern Arkansas (1-0) took the first point of the season as the doubles teams of Lena Milosevic and Annika Berrendorf won 6-1 over DSU's Maria Caride and Sofia Pepe at doubles No. 2, while Sarah Roy and Inna Serpukhova shutout the Lady Statesmen's Haley Rooks and Luna Chacon 6-0 at doubles No. 3 to set the stage for Milosevic and Berrendorf to take the point.

In singles action, the Muleriders won at lines one, two, three, five and six. Roy was victorious at No. 1 with a 6-1, 6-3 decision against Adriana Subias. Milosevic won 6-4, 6-4 to defeat Marie Guillaume at No. 2. Berrendorf claimed the win at No. 3 as she defeated Caride 6-1, 6-2. At No. 5 it was Greta Wallin that put away Haley Rooks 6-1, 6-2, while Serpukhova won easily at No. 6 with a 6-0, 6-1 result against Chacon.

The Muleriders head south across state lines on Sunday to face Division I Louisiana Tech in a pair of matches in Ruston.
