DURANT, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas Muleriders (6-1) rallied back from a first inning four-run deficit to beat the Southeastern Oklahoma Savage Storm (5-4) 6-4 in the first GAC game of the season. Sophomore transfer Mikey McGinnis led the Mulerider's 12-hit effort with a go-ahead two run home run in the eighth. It didn't take long for Senior Brett McGee to claim the Mulerider program's career home run record after trying it in the Muleriders most recent game. The Pittsburgh, Texas native knocked a solo homer in the 5th to knot the game at 4 runs each, setting the stage for the McGinnis homer to come.
Southern Arkansas will finish their three-game Southeastern series with a double header beginning at noon tomorrow. Live coverage links will be available at www.MuleriderAthletics.com.

SOUTHERN ARKANSAS NOTES
*Of Southern Arkansas' six runs, three Muleriders produced two each to fuel scoring- Brett McGee, Mikey McGinnis and junior Will Richardson. All three recorded two hits on the day alongside sophomore Brandon Nicoll.
*Junior Chris Sutton and senior Conner Allen recorded the other two hits for the Muleriders with Sutton's coming in SAU's first plate appearance. Sutton has reached base safely in each of his last three first at bats. Allen drew his sixth walk of the season, a figure that leads the team through their seven games.
*Brett McGee knocked in his 175th and 76th career runs and ninth and tenth of the season in his 2 hit, 2-RBI effort. The Senior has recorded a hit in each of his last four games and has combined for 10 RBI in his last three games.
*Both of McGinnins' hits went for extra bases, knocking a two-base hit in the 4th before his home run in the 8th.
*Jeremy Adorno made his third start of the season (20th career), second against the Savage Storm as a Mulerider (2-0). He pitched 6.0 innings in a no decision in his five hit, four run effort.
*Hayden Hable pitched 2.0 innings in relief to earn his second consecutive win of the season and third of his career.
*Santos Sosa earned his first save of the season, just seven games into the year following a 2022 season where the junior recorded just a single save between his 31.2 innings pitched. The 1.0 relief inning saw zero Southeastern hits as the Irving, Texas native retired all three batters he faced.
*The Mulerider team combined for a .943 OPS and .324 batting average (12-37).
*Southern Arkansas recorded the same amount of hits as their previous game against Lane College but recorded just a fraction of the runs.
SOSU NOTES
*All four Southeastern runs were earned in the first inning in a four hit, four run rally. The four runs represent the most scored against the Muleriders in the first inning since May 21, 2022 when Henderson produced four in the first of a 12-11 Mulerider win.
*Charlie Deeds made his third and longest (2.2) appearance for the Storm and fell to 1-1 on the season. Cole Canuteson made his second career start against SAU, earning a no decision in both outings.
