TULSA, Okla. – The fall season has come to an end for the Mulerider Women's Golf Team as they concluded play at the Tulsa Cup hosted by Rogers State at the Club at Forest Ridge. The group finished the tournament 16
th of 19 squads after they recorded 982 total strokes (+118; 327-323-332) over the three rounds. The course consisted of 54 holes with a par-72 and stretched the distance of 6005 yards. Southern Arkansas' competition consisted of 102 golfers from the MIAA, GAC, GLVC, and NSIC.
Aubrey Marx led her team in round one after she recorded a couple birdies including one on hole six (par 3) to aid her 74 strokes.
Emma Hester fell behind Marx by one stroke (75) in the initial round with three birdies and six bogies.
Aurea Carlisle sat in third with 87 strokes after she recorded two birdies including one on hole 12 (par 3).
Taylor Rich rested in fourth for the group with 91 strokes and one birdie while
Kelsey Saveall sat in fifth of the team with 94 strokes and one birdie.
Marx continued to lead by a single stroke ahead of Hester as she was the only Mulerider in round two to score a birdie to keep her within the top 20 thanks to a 79-stroke effort. Hester reduced her six bogies to five that helped her tie Marx in the second round.
After shooting a 78 in round three,
Aubrey Marx recorded her first 54-hole tournament where she hit sub 80 strokes in each round. With the performance, the sophomore from El Dorado, Arkansas tied for 18
th among the 102 competitors. Hester finished her day tying for 36
th with 237 strokes (+21). Other Muleriders to place were Carlisle (T84; +39; 87-82-86), Rich (T88; +43; 91-83-85), and Saveall (98; +58; 94-88-92).
