MAGNOLIA, Ark. - The Southern Arkansas University Men's Golf gears up to compete in their first tournament at the 24
th Northeastern State Golf Classic in Muskogee, Oklahoma this week on Monday, September 19 and Tuesday, September 20.
Five Muleriders will see the Cherokee Hills Golf Club, including one new face in Luke Cote. Cote, a true freshman from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada entered college posting a 74.3 18-hole average. He will be joined by junior
Connor Harrington, junior
Caleb Miller, sophomore
Logan McDonald, and graduate student
Drew Reaux.
Miller is heading into this tournament following a record 2021-22 season. His season found him a place in the record book for his 6 par or better rounds, 64 birdies, and two eagles on the season. His career 74.09 18-hole average as well as his 13 par or less rounds also place him in the Mulerider record book. Last season, Miller posted a par 3 scoring of 3.2992, a par 4 scoring of 4.2064, and a par 5 scoring of 4.8302.
Coach
Neriah Brown is entering his third season as head coach of the Mulerider Men's and Women's golf program. His 2021-22 men's team ranked fourth in the record book for the best scoring average (298.43), ranked fifth in Mulerider golf history in national scoring rating (95) and fourth in national ranking (77). Brown's '21-22 team also leads the record book in eagles in a season (10) and ranks second for birdies in a season (334).
Harrington is posting a career 18-hole average of 79.52, shooting 7.76 versus par, Miller a 74.09 and 2.45 versus par, McDonald a 76.39 with 4.50 versus par, and Reaux a 79.40 with 8.00 versus par.
