MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas Women's Tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss to Arkansas Tech on Saturday afternoon at the Live Oak Tennis Courts. The loss drops the Muleriders to 3-14 overall and evens the squad's Great American Conference record at 1-1. SAU is back in action on Monday as they play host to Harding in a league affair that will also serve as Senior Day. Start time is scheduled for 2 p.m. with seniors honored prior to the start of action.
Gretta Wallin and Inna Serpukhova dropped a line one match 6-4 to Lea Grinberg and Daniela Baez in doubles play. Melanie Griffiths and Megan Bell topped
Serena Gill and
Sarah Roy 6-3 at No. 2 doubles to claim the point.
Three of the six singles matches went to third set including Gill's as she edged Madalena Amil 6-1, 1-6, 7-6 at No. 4 for SAU's lone point of the afternoon.
Simone Simas lost in three sets to Aastha Dargude at No. 3 and
Sarah Roy was defeated by Baez at No. 2.
