MAGNOLIA, Ark. - The Southern Arkansas University Men's Golf team will compete in the Great American Conference Championship in Hot Springs, Arkansas this week Sunday, April 10, Monday, April 11, and Tuesday, April 12. The Muleriders will play 54 holes in three rounds over the course of three days. Led by second-year head coach
Neriah Brown, the Muleriders will bring a squad of five golfers to compete in Central Arkansas.

THE COURSE
Â
The Muleriders will finish out their Spring 2022 season at the GAC Championship at the Hot Springs Country Club in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The men will play on the 18-hole 6,690-yard Arlington course which was built in 1927 and was renovated back in 1994. The course has steep and narrow fairways. Seven holes of the course's holes feature sand traps and bunkers with most of them being located on the back nine. The course has a slope rating of 136 and a course rating of 74.4.

THE OPPOSITION

The Mulerider's will face off against highly ranked opponents in the GAC Championships such as Arkansas Tech University ranked who is ranked 6
th and won last year's National Championships and Henderson State University who comes in ranked 22
nd. The remaining opponents will include Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Harding University, Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Southern Nazarene University, University of Arkansas at Monticello, and Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

The squad that will be participating in the GAC Championship will include
Roman Timmerman,
Caleb Miller,
Tyler Garrett,
Logan McDonald, and
Connor Harrington. Timmerman and Miller last competed in the Great American Conference Championship in the Spring 2021 season.

The Muleriders three best performances in the GAC Championship came in 2016 placing 5
th after shooting a combined score of 885, 2017 placing 5
th firing a combined score of 900, and in 2021 placing tied for 4
th shooting a combined score of 889. Timmerman shot a combined score of 217 placing tied for 6
th in the tournament and Miller shot a combined score of 222 placing tied 17
th in the tournament.

SAU's best three round performances this 2021-2022 season are the NSU Golf Classic shooting a combined score of 856 placing 8
th in the tournament and the Battle for the Belt firing a combined score 861 placing 3
rd. The Muleriders best two round score was at the Natural State Golf Classic scoring a combined score of 584 placing 5
th in the tournament overall.

Timmerman improved his score for two round matches over the season, shooting a highest score of 153 and shaving 11 strokes to give him a lowest score of 142. Miller also improved his score for two round matches over the season, firing a highest score of 152 and shaved eight strokes off to give him a lowest score of 144. Garrett improved his score for two round matches over the season, shooting a highest score of 157 and shaved nine strokes off to give him a lowest score of 148. Harrington improved his score for two round matches over the season, firing a highest score of 175 and shaved 26 strokes off giving him a lowest score of 149. For the 2021-2022 season Garrett had eight par or better rounds and Timmerman had seven rounds. Timmerman, Garrett, and Miller all had 21 counting scores which is 95.5% of their total scores. Garrett led the team in birdies with a total of 67.
