MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas University Men's Golf team are set for the NCAA DII Central/Midwest Regional beginning on May 7th and ending on May 9th in Big Rapids, Michigan. The tournament will be held at Katke Golf Club.
The men will make their fifth consecutive regional appearance. In last year's regional competition, the men finished 11th in the field and will surely look to improve upon that finish this year.
Luke Cote finished tied for 72nd at last year's competition while
Will Blake finished 109th and
Jett Stephenson subbed in for the last round of play and posted a score of +9 over par.
The men will compete in a field consisting of 20 teams including, Central Oklahoma, Central Missouri, Harding, Washburn, Winona State, Pittsburg State, Arkansas Tech, SAU, Missouri Western State, UAFS, Grand Valley State, Findlay, Missouri S&T, Missouri-St. Louis, Rockhurst, Ferris State, Davenport, Tiffin, Wayne State, and Hillsdale.
Competing for the team title for SAU will be,
Luke Cote,
Carter Bell,
Jett Stephenson,
Collin Spangler, and
Will Blake.
Stewart Druin will also make the trip and be substitute for the tournament.
Tee-times will begin at 6:30 a.m. with the first Mulerider teeing off at 7:30 a.m.
