Hot Springs, Ark. – After 18 more holes on day two of the Great American Conference Championship, the Southern Arkansas University Women's golf team currently sits in 7
th place in the tournament, after firing a score of 323 in round two. SAU's 323 is one stroke better than yesterday's 324 in round one, and they currently sit at a 647 for the tournament.
Senior
Mackenzy Turner leads the team currently sitting tied for 11
th firing an 80 in today's second round.
Sophomore
Taylor Rich improved her day two score by 5 strokes as she shot a 79 in round two, and is currently tied for 27
th place in the tournament overall. Freshmen
Cadence Underwood also showed great improvement on her round two score fired a 79 in round two to knock off six strokes from yesterday's total. Underwood currently sits in 29
th.
Sophomore
Chelsea Chow shot an 85 in today's round, she is currently tied for 30
th place in the tournament. Freshmen
Aurea Carlisle fired an 89 in round two of day two, she is currently for 39
th place in the tournament.
Some highlights for the tournament so far are Underwood shooting a +3 in all par-four scoring opportunities and Turner firing a +4 on all par-four scoring opportunities, and both of these stats are in the top half of the leaderboard. Turner also shot a +2 on all par-five scoring opportunities and this stat is also in the top half of the leaderboard. Rich leads the team in pars with a total of 21 and Turner leads the team in birdies with a total of 3.
