MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas Women's tennis team suffered a 5-2 defeat to Northwest Missouri on Monday at the Live Oak Tennis Courts. The Muleriders fall to 0-4 on the season, while the Bearcats improve to 3-1.
SAU's
Lena Milosevic earned a win at hard fought win at No. 1 singles as she beat NWMSU's Vera Alenicheva 7-6 (7-5), 6-7 (5-7), 1-0 (10-8). At No. 5,
Simone Simas topped the Bearcats' Tessa Kwakernaak 5-7, 7-5, 1-0 (10-5).
The Muleriders nearly earned the win after losing the doubles point. SAU was defeated in three sets at No. 3 and No. 6 as Julia Aliseda rallied to beat SAU's Greta Wallkin 3-6, 6-1, 6-1, while the Muleriders'
Kalley Smith battled back to force a third set before falling 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-5)
The SAU Women will return to action on March 11 through 13 for matches with Montevallo, Midwestern State and Newman; all of which will be played in Magnolia from the Live Oak Tennis Courts. Live video coverage links will be available at
