COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Southern Arkansas Women's Tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss to #4 North Georgia on Tuesday from Columbus State's Walden Tennis Center. SAU's record drops to 2-8 on the season. The Muleriders return to action on Wednesday to battle Georgia College at 3 p.m. in Columbus.
Despite the loss, Southern Arkansas did not make it easy for the Nighthawks.
Simone Simas and
Lena Milosevic topped C. Labonte Fey and Rafaella Villanueva 6-2 in doubles action, while Simas won at No. 5 singles with a 6-4, 6-2 decision over UNG's Cibeles Zuddy.
At No. 1 singles, Milosevic was edged in her first set against Vaishali Jorge 7-5. Villanueva also topped
Inna Serukhova 7-5 in the opening set at No. 6. Serukhova played to a fourth point in set two as did
Serena Gill against Frey at No. 4.
