BETHANY, Okla. – The final road swing into to Oklahoma did not start the way the Southern Arkansas University women's basketball team would have liked as they fell to Southern Nazarene University 98-52. SAU is now 11-13 (6-12 GAC) with four games remaining.
The Crimson Storm used an 18-0 run (10:00-1:52) to start the game and never looked back. SNU led 20-3 after one quarter of play and would go on to post 25 points or better in each of the final three quarters. The 52 points scored by SAU sets a new season low.
Kylie Warren came off of the bench to lead the Muleriders with a team-high 12 points to go along with five rebounds.
Diamond Morris and
Ariana Guinn both totaled eight points while
Jessica Jones chipped in seven.
Kisi Young led SAU on the glass with seven rebounds.
SAU shot 31.1 percent from the floor and only connected on 2-of-16 three point attempts, while SNU shot 59.2 percent from floor (42-of-71).
SNU led by six double-digit scorers with Lillie Smith leading the team with 17 points.
The Muleriders will have an off day tomorrow before they get ready to take on Oklahoma Baptist University on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
