BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Playing in only one game today due to freezing cold temperatures this morning, the Southern Arkansas University softball made the most of their one game as they picked up their first shutout win of the season, taking down Missouri Western State University 10-0. The Muleriders are now 3-5 on the year and will look to even out their record on tomorrow's final day of the Alvy Early Memorial Classic as they are set to play two games.
Sydney Ward picked up her second win of the tournament and her third on the year as she tossed 4.0 innings, while striking out five batters and allowing four hits.
Kiana Pogroszewski tossed the final three frames, while allowing no hits and striking out three.
Jade Miller continues to be a bright spot at the top of the Mulerider lineup, as she collected two hits on the day with a one being a three run home run.
Alese Casper showed off what she can do with the bat as she totaled three hits, including a double.

SAU will play two games tomorrow to close out the Alvy Early Memorial Classic. The Muleriders will take on Northwest Missouri State University at 11:00 a.m., followed by a contest with Northeastern State University at 1:00 p.m.
