MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Fresh off of their first win of the 2021 season, the Southern Arkansas University Mulerider Volleyball team looks to build off of their recent momentum as they are set to play three matches this weekend in the Hendrix Warrior Invitational in Conway, Ark.  

SAU will look to bounce back after going 1-4 in the Buccaneer Invitational to start the season last week. The team picked up a 3-1 win against Christian Brothers University, and held them under 15 points in each of their three set victories to close out the tournament. Sophomore setter Morgan Schuster was named to the All-Tournament team after totaling 134 assists at 8.38 assists per set to go along with 44 digs, 14 kills, 10 total blocks and five service aces.

Southern Arkansas will face off against three quality Division III programs. SAU will get things started tonight, as they will take on host school Hendrix College at 6 p.m. The warriors are 1-3 on the season, with a win over Concordia University (TX). The Muleriders will play back-to-back matches on Saturday, starting with University of Dallas at noon, followed by University of St. Thomas (TX) at 2 p.m. UD is currently 4-1 on the year, while UST is 2-2. The Muleriders are 1-0 all-time against Hendrix, with their lone win coming during the 2018 season. SAU has never faced UD or UST.

SAU will return to Magnolia after the Hendrix Warrior Invitational, as they will host Harding University in their home opener at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September, 14.
